ASRL’s Board Chair Patty De Dominic is the recipient of the Lifetime Achievement Volunteer Service Award, an honor bestowed on her by the President of the United States. This award is the nation’s premier volunteer awards program, encouraging citizens to live a life of service through presidential gratitude and national recognition.
In a letter to De Dominic, President Barack Obama thanks her for “addressing the pressing needs in [her] community and in our country,” and cites her for “her commitment to service…that moves America closer to its great promise.” De Dominic is recognized for her “doing all she can to shape a better tomorrow for our great nation.”
De Dominic has a long career as an entrepreneur, coach, mentor and advocate on behalf of women’s causes. She is President of De Dominic and Associates, an award-winning business consulting and management consulting firm, and the founding chair of the Santa Barbara Women’s Festivals, among many leadership roles regionally and nationally. She has worked tirelessly as a volunteer to promote women’s professional advancement in the United States and to tell women’s success stories as inspiration for all women. Her volunteer leadership on behalf of the single parents and families that ASRL serves is emblematic of her dedication to lifting women up so that they can achieve their goals. In the cases of women that ASRL serves, De Dominic’s purpose is to help women maintain financial stability while staying at the bedside of their catastrophically ill children.
Says De Dominic, “This award is so meaningful, as it recognizes a lifetime of work to build a better country through volunteer service.” Congratulations and great appreciation to you, Patty!
