Teen survivors of catastrophic illness ages 12-21 are invited to enter
The Andre Sobel River of Life Foundation is pleased to announce that the 2016 Andre Sobel Award is now open for entries. The award invites teen survivors of catastrophic illness ages 12-21 to tell their stories of friendship in the face of illness.
It is the hope of the Foundation that in sharing their stories, teens will reflect on the value of friendships and share what they needed most when they were ill, so that others may learn from their wisdom and experience. First prize is $5 ,000 with additional cash prizes for second, third and honorable mentions. The Andre Sobel Award is not a scholarship — winners may used the award in any way they choose to pursue a cherished dream.
The deadline for submissions is January 31, 2016. Winners will be notified in April, 2016. For more information and the application package click here.
Please help us spread the word by forwarding this announcement to young people who may qualify to enter, and to your friends and colleagues who work in pediatric hospitals, camps and organizations that serve young patients, and who teach students ages 12-21.
