Meet Oscar

Oscar was sixteen when he was diagnosed with cancer in the hip, which then spread to his lungs.  He underwent six rounds of chemotherapy and radiation, as well as hip surgery and a stem cell transplant.  His mother, who is single and with two other children, was unable to work during his treatment.  Finances were strained, and ASRL became involved with paying urgent expenses so that his mother could care for Oscar in the hospital and while he recovered at home.  ASRL continues to assist Oscar’s family as he grows older and receives a college education.
